The New Game

The New Game



Everyone was excited when the new game was released.
People flocked to the stores,
mostly young people and teens
to grab their own copy
and see what the new game was all about.

No real directions came with the new game
as is the case with most video games today.
Play it for yourself!
Learn as you play and figure it out on your own!

So that is exactly what everyone did
and when the death count began
and that count kept climbing and climbing
the reality of the new game was finally known.

Die in the game and you die for real!
Suddenly this new game had no appeal.
But there were so many copies of the new game out
when it was realized what the game was all about.

No more copies of the new game were sold of course
but what to do about the copies that were still out there?
All over the news, “DO NOT PLAY THIS NEW GAME!”
But some still would and did for the scare,
teenagers mostly playing on a dare.

So many died and many more would too.
Parents would destroy their children's games
but they would find other copies of the new game still,
playing high on drugs and wanting that thrill.

To this day law enforcement is still working
on trying to find out who invented the new game
but every lead and trail seems to always run cold
and the public is always quick to place blame.

The new game can still be found on the black market of course.
Most likely it will never really ever go away.
I actually even brought you a copy of my new game.
