.:Spell bound to F.A.I.L.

it’s almost maddening...it is
mad men looking like everyone else; stealth
looking over their shoulders reaching into holsters
a few exceptions here & there where
one or more they just stare; you know
like that underling or that undersecretary
or the town watcher watching out for the spellbound
those under or overachieving ones
or that one…or that two or three
or that pertinent or unimportant few
the ones who are not at all believing
just led in; put into play for retrieving
led by the one; that one who on occasion
that one who on occasion can't see the writing on the wall
a blinding setup wherein we’re all bound to fall

to the spellbound.. those

Foolish
Agents
Increasing the
Lunacy

meanwhile the bruises come in twos & threes
the ones; we too often refuse to see
no one knows their intricacy
let alone the complexity of the hurt that’s felt
how the tragedy; how it
always endures

but we just can't let go

so the tragic; they just get done-in where
common sense loses interest
evolving into more & more of the senseless
another death or those attempted deaths
the ones snatching breaths
the ones seen as new-found emergencies
where with each squeeze of a trigger
there’s a satisfaction where the neurosis grows bigger
larger with each passionate press ::their release
pressing onward with another spring-loaded lesson
the tension...keeping the paranoid confused
the up tick of that nine-eleven score
still unsettled; searching for that Perfect 10
always coming up guessing...just to do it again

yet who hears the so-called martyrs?
their song sung deep down within their bowels
deep in the gut of an abysmal relevance
their reverence to the tragic
and to them it makes perfect sense
opinions granted, but most slanted...imperfect
trudging along to a tone-deaf cadence
blindly following while chasing...running after
the erupting lilt of their next explosion
all of it a distortion
as humanity's erosion sorely festers
sitting alongside elongated tables
the kind with patrons short on clear answers.
