Abinger Hammer

My heart belongs in Abinger Hammer -
You know, that cute little sleepy village,
That sits deep in the heart of the Surrey Hills -
The so-called stockbroker belt!

Living somewhere like Abinger,
Means you've made it somehow!

Pronounced Ab-BIN-JER, not Ab-BING-er,
I once thought, as an awkward 16 year old,
Spotty slow learning backwardly mobile
wiry haired retard!

You can tell I didn't like myself much then,
Can't you?

But I hate getting things wrong -
Possibly a symptom of my progressing OCD!

However, if the dream ever comes true...
Why not join me in my big country house,
In Abinger?
I think you'd like it -
I'd like it too!

We can drink as much as we want,
Throw wild parties,
Crank the music up high!
It's doubtful the neighbours would even see us,
Let alone hear us!
After all, my soul belongs in Abinger Hammer.

So... what d'ya think...

Tomorrow, maybe? 😍🤣
