Insomnolent
The river we drove into
does it exist
did I dream this reality
We flow into the day
open
cloudless
sky
otherworldly blue
They watched the stars
fall from your head
and become prisms
on the ceiling
on the wall
From birth we are hypnotized
by inventions
tied tighter and tighter
to clock hands
Seconds for some
does anyone know the time
Two days without a drive
yellow lines whisper the story
You crave embrace
as we flatten the couch cushions
my body aches at once
unwilling to give up the night
A house is just a cage
for the bodies we squirm
to get out of.
does it exist
did I dream this reality
We flow into the day
open
cloudless
sky
otherworldly blue
They watched the stars
fall from your head
and become prisms
on the ceiling
on the wall
From birth we are hypnotized
by inventions
tied tighter and tighter
to clock hands
Seconds for some
does anyone know the time
Two days without a drive
yellow lines whisper the story
You crave embrace
as we flatten the couch cushions
my body aches at once
unwilling to give up the night
A house is just a cage
for the bodies we squirm
to get out of.
