Some poetry is a ten  
maybe your next poem will be  
 
beautiful to men  
or destined to be ugly  
 
There’s more to your art  
than what others might think  
 
reasons like your part  
conversations in your ink  
 
or fleeting digits  
flickering on screens  
 
Face it early  
face it now  
 
Beautiful but vain  
rhymes without a meaning  
 
bring only boredom and pain  
 
…empty without feeling  
 
You don’t write for that  
breathing while you’re dreaming  
 
Poetry that’s ugly  
if it’s poetry for real  
 
Makes the poem pretty  
…beauty you can feel
