To Be Humble
Humble is the word, it paves the way.
Humble every time, that I look at this race.
I’ver never been so proud and yet so ashamed.
Humble: the price that I pay, every day.
I wanna be God, since I deserve it.
Good at everything, since I’m worth it.
A record made? I may disturb it.
I should be first, or else I’m worthless.
It’s hard to walk this rocky road.
I pay in sweat and tears and hope.
„I shall be better”, is what I told.
I won’t accept, that I’m no gold.
Since middle class is not my standard.
Since I’m the rookie skipped to champion.
I cried as if I was a bastard.
I never thrived when I was average.
But that’s the point: It’s the begin.
Sports make me a humble kind of kin.
Here I shall fail and others win.
I shall be proud, be proud within.
Cause this time, I am not perfect.
I won’t be cheered, but that is worth it.
Cause all the grace, it would be worthless,
If I wasn’t humble enough to deserve it.

Author's Note
Having been shown, that I need to be THE BEST in order to be even recognized, I seem to find it extremely hard to accept that there are areas in this life (like sports, lol), in which I'll probably never be that person. Although this struggle seems eternally hard, I found that that's the ideal way to learn and practice gratitude towards myself, and discover that I too need to bow down to my imperfections.
So that's it: Welcome to me, learning to be humble, featuring triathlon and unreal expectations towards myself.
This is a poem to my stubborn inner self and to everyone who feels the same, no matter which area of your life is affected. If you read this, you're not alone: Nobody's perfect, and maybe that's the most perfect trait of them all.

Nice scribe reminds me of my previous self before I turned that leaf then back again, turned my cheek then got clapped back again, nearly broke my chin the way fate reacted then, picked my pen up then vented relation in relapse of sin.
