Image for the poem She Dances

She Dances

Embroidered by dragonflies,
the silk of her dress
glistens, whilst the
stars above lay still
as she dances
barefoot on
soft moss.

Even the crack of the firewood
sounds subdued in her
presence and for a moment,
I silently beg the universe to stop,
for just a second.

Shadows from the fire
pirouettes about her ankles, the smell of pine infused
with smoke fills the air between
us and under a perfect moonlight,

I am mesmerized.

She moves with the grace of freedom.
