The Meanings and Symbolism behind my New Name
- The Meanings and Symbolism behind my New Name -
If everyone was curious about my name change, it was for two reasons... one being that I did it to honor my recent conversion to Islam, with my new name being now Arabic in origin. This is a tradition for people who convert to Islam, to choose an Arabic name or a name with at least an Arabic meaning to it. And I wished to honor that tradition fully. As for the other reason, that reason is that my new name is also somewhat of an anagram for a name that I had in one of my earliest past lives. The anagram can be solved, and its' meaning understood by those with an eye for such things, in the following way:
Karam Lujaina Parveen
Rearrange the letters, and you have:
Rakam Jiaanlu Parveen
Which, among at least one of the desert tribes of the planet Ra'qia on which I lived in ancient times prior to the recorded human history known to the humans of Earth was a translation into one of their native languages of the actual name I had in that life, which was:
Ra'vann Gislu Hara'kaon
Which those people spelled as follows:
Rak'van Gislu Hara'keen
Which would have been literally pronounced:
“Rock-Von Geesloo Hara-Keen”
Which in the language of the people of my home planet (in that past life) was actually pronounced more like:
“Rah-Von Geesloo Hara-Khan”
So, my new name also honors all of that, and if you switch the first and last names you get:
Parveen Lujaina Karam
Which still refers to this ancient name of mine in the following way:
Parveen can become Reevan... which refers to Rak'van.
Lujaina is unchanged, and still refers to Gislu.
Karam can become Khan... which refers to Hara'Kaon.
Also, Reevan can become Raveen, which can be shortened to Raven.
Ravens, in my personal spirituality, are symbolic of the bridge between physical reality and the parallel partly spiritual reality known as the Otherworld, which is the realm most sacred to the Faerie kindred. So, from a purely mystical standpoint, there is a tremendous amount of meaning within that as well.
And so, both forward and back, my name honors many things important and sacred to me, and also it honors fully who I once was, and in many ways still am. I hope this helps to clarify and explain why my name is so very different now than the one you used to know me by. My new name actually has deeper connections to both that ancient past life of mine and several others across history. In fact, my nickname “Kara” refers to both the Hara portion of that ancient name of mine, and also the castle known as Hara Castle which I defended in my past life as Shrio Amakusa Tokisada during the Edo period of Japanese history. Hara Castle is where history says I died in that life, but I actually did survive that battle and go on to plot against the Shogun who caused me to almost die at Hara Castle. Only to in some varied ways become “reborn” with a clearer purpose than what I had prior to that battle. Just as my purpose in this, my present life, is clearer to me now than it has been at any other point in my life previous. I have a serious of profound visions, dreams, and other experiences to thank for that! We do not ask for change, when it comes, but always it comes when and as it must. These changes, at least, were welcome ones!
Interestingly, Hara'kaon comes down to us in Earth languages in the form of the Finnish last name Härkönen, which is actually my youngest partner Chloe's original last name before her family changed it to Harper when they came to the U.S.A., from Finland. And that name derives from the Finnish word Härkä, which means “Bull”. Härkönen is the name that inspired Frank Herbert's House Harkonnen in Dune, which takes place on a desert planet just like Ra'qia, the name of which is similar to the actual name of the planet Dune in Frank Herbert's novels, which was Arrakis, which was sometimes called Rakis in the later books. The capital of Arrakis was called Arrakeen. Which sounds like Hara'keen, which in turn brings us back to Parveen. And in the story, Arrakeen was governed originally by House Harkonnen. So, all of this flows together and comes full circle back to its' origin points. In many ways, my new name is also a reminder of how similar Frank Herbert's Dune is to some of the actual history of the planet Ra'qia which I believe he was channeling without realizing it (possibly from having lived on Ra'qia in a past life himself and simply not recalling it fully in his present life). The irony being, the actual history of Ra'qia happened in the ancient past before recorded history, and the fictional events of Dune take place in a distant future beyond recorded history. Which presents a beautiful cycle of sorts that appeals to my sense of the rightness of things in the universe. In any case, all of these things were important to me and deeply considered by me very strongly when I was choosing my new name, along with its' ties to Chloe and to her family. So yeah... lots of meaning is in my new name for me! Far more so than there was in my old one. And yes! My personal beliefs are unusual. But they work for me... and are a result of countless things that I discovered to be true and quite profound. Such things shape us all.
The Arabic name Karam is of Persian origin, and it means “Generosity, Bounty”.
The Arabic name Lujaina means “Silver.”
And the Arabic name Parveen if of Persian-Kurdish origin and it means “Cluster of Stars”. Specifically, that cluster of stars refers to the Pleiades.
All of which resonates with me strongly, given I am what is called a Starseed, someone who originally lived on planets other than Earth prior to first coming to exist upon Earth. And silver is my favorite metal, far more so than gold.
For simplicity's sake, everyone may continue to refer to me simply as Kara, which pretty much everybody does anyway and which I am pleased with. *Smiles* :)
