Close to You
In buckets my palms sweat as you
Saunter down the stairs my way.
Close to you.
Slip me a smile as you approach and my heart
Skips and tumbles like a rock down a cliff.
The sweet scent of lilacs pervades my senses sending
Me into a tail spin like an out of control plane,
Plummeting.
Your blue amethyst eyes
Mesmerize me like a child seeing a magician pulling
A rabbit out of a hat
Brush by me; a feather touch with a
Soft shoulder covered in red cashmere, sending
An electric shock up my spine
A backwards glance leads me
To make a wish as you
Fall into the arms of the one that
Has your heart and hand in his.
A wish to be
Close to you
Saunter down the stairs my way.
Close to you.
Slip me a smile as you approach and my heart
Skips and tumbles like a rock down a cliff.
The sweet scent of lilacs pervades my senses sending
Me into a tail spin like an out of control plane,
Plummeting.
Your blue amethyst eyes
Mesmerize me like a child seeing a magician pulling
A rabbit out of a hat
Brush by me; a feather touch with a
Soft shoulder covered in red cashmere, sending
An electric shock up my spine
A backwards glance leads me
To make a wish as you
Fall into the arms of the one that
Has your heart and hand in his.
A wish to be
Close to you
