Girl Just Wanted to Have Fun

The teacher always told her not to stand up on the swing but she always did it anyway.
I hated her guts because she always used to chase me home from school, pull my hair and try to kiss me.
She was huge and ghastly.
She scared the shit out of me.
One day at lunch she was doing her standing on the swing stunt, while the sound of Cyndi Lauper filled the air from a shitty cassette deck radio near by.
She was singing along to "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" when she fell off and ate the ground so hard!
It still makes me cringe and laugh thinking about it now.
She fell like a sack of potato's.
I swear she left half of her face on the asphalt.
She was on the ground crying and bleeding.
Two of her teeth came out of her mouth.
We were all standing there looking at her like she was from another planet.
I remember how we were all fascinated by the blood and the pain she was in.
It was the talk of the school for a few days.
She was out for the rest of the week.
Probably because she had half of the 3rd grade seeing her all busted up.
After the incident, she never chased or bothered me again.
I heard years later she went swimming during a violent storm off the cost of Florida.
She drowned in the Atlantic.
Probably warned not to go swimming.
She was courageous but not to intelligent.
