Legalized Addiction

You probably see what the photographer photographed
A variety of liquor bottles ready for purchase and consumption
I sorta see that too

Many see this image and think of people partying, having a good time,
getting drunk and maybe fucking their lover or some total stranger,
alcohol has that effect

Many people use it to relax after a hard days work or school
Some may see alcohol as a crutch, a friend,
something they can turn to when life gets to heavy or complex

Millions rely on alcohol to wash away their memories, their tragedies,
their past & present, with little or no ambition for a future

People feel they are in control with their intake of alcohol but their not
Alcohol usually prevails
Many have lost everything
Alcohol has wasted their lives
Alcoholic dementia is a real thing
So many are dying inside


A strong will, love & support from others can get you the assistance and help you need
I have seen many family & friends succumb to it
I've seen some family & friends defeat it
Some on this site have told me their story and I'm proud of them
That's a huge victory
Their stories need to be told and addressed for those who are struggling


What I see when I look at any bottle of liquor
Is my mother dying from cirrhosis of the liver
