Kissed by the Storm

Once I was a pile of sand
Something less than spectacular
Maybe, coming closer
One might have recognized
That the fine grains
Were shimmering softly
In all colors of the rainbow

Then you came into my life
A whirling tornado
Turning me upside down
And lifting me up to the sky
In mighty spirals
Making me lose my mind
And my self-control

Being powerful and gentle
At the same time
This storm was
Absolutely trustworthy
I felt safe and understood
Ready to fly with this force of nature
Wherever life’s journey might take us

Thanks to you
My whirling travelling companion
I found myself
Completely changed.
The tiny grains of sand
Were shining brilliantly
In brightest colors now

Loving you, achemist of my soul
Taught me to love unconditionally
My heart became an abundant source
Of loving kindness
That I spread wherever I am
The more love I give the more
I can draw on the wealth of my heart
