Orphans of The Night-with Grace

Cicada moonlight as Earth hears them rising
their symphony of wings singing lullabies
from shadows of darkness sympathizing
summoning the tides in nature's caravan
awakening ecstasy drowning in sorrow
caressing the bark of the trees chiffon
tasting the pulse of impending death
orphans of the night leaving only a shell
becoming a voice in prophesy

Light exits at twilight's gate
Its hue fading with eerie grace
shadows long bowed out
night arrive in its rightful place
nocturnal habitants rise
time for calls and songs
within grey kingdom of the night
owls hoot as the wind whispers
those that snuggle in comfort warmth
let cicadas lullaby fade to dream
