I MADE A  MISTAKE

DUMB
or was I just ignorant
or maybe afraid.
When you asked,
"Do you want to eat it?"
and I quickly said
"NO!"
I thought you were
referring to eating the
piece of raw meat in your
hand in the kitchen.
When you explained
and showed me what
you meant and how you'd
prepare it for a tasty consumption
my mouth started to water
I'll never make that
mistake again; maybe others
but not that one.
I wonder---what mistakes
am I making now by saying
NO too quickly?
