the man in the mirror, who do you see?  
will you ever believe me?  
what'll it take, what'll it be?

as much as that may be true,

pathetic, weak, and dumb;  
destructive, toxic, no middle ground,  
is that how you see yourself?

I cut my teeth on that when we were young,

I'm the prickliest there ever was,

passionate, relentless, and fierce,  
what happened to him?

I love rainbows, glitter, sunshine and flowers because you make me so happy I can't contain it.  
I cry and feel grief because I now know what true emptiness feels like when you're not here.  
I embrace my anger for the answers it gives because it showed me who gets to experience my life.  
I lean into the doom spiral because I recognized my anxiety was unfounded, you wouldn't be here otherwise.  
I boldly walk in my truth because I confidently know you're at my back.

get out of your own way and recognize you're the reason I'm beaming.  
I trust you to take my burdens as if they were your own,
