I look to you and know you're gone
and I'm alone again
life is filling you up and you no longer seek me out
I knew when you first left
I felt cold
it was time for you to move on
as people do

I am a relic used to my set ways
the volatile world isn't for me
chaos is fun but I am dangerous
unpredictable at best

my shadow keeps me company
it knows all my secrets
she will greet you should you come again
when you need shade to shelter
from the fullness
and hunger of the world
