To vilify
Driving wedges between people
Accepting the extremists view of the other.
No room for middle ground
Compromise
Understanding
So we are at an impasse
The extremists win.
Those that profit from division win.
Those that sow division profit.
And we are left
hating each other
Returning again and again
to the fount of outrage
Another affirmation of our world view
Roll up the sleeve
Cook the poison
Tourniquet the arm and
mainline outrage.
Or can we try another path?

Easy to see it all as another addiction if we just step back for a wider perspective.

Another path is a necessity.
I hold onto the thought that one person can make a difference even though I’m watching the world turn into a darker place.
It’s my hope that we evolve as a species and realize that we share a planet, therefore, we should work together to hold onto it and each other. Division, vilifying, hatred, manipulation, it’s all BS and unnecessary.
I know I may seem naive, but why the hell can’t people just try to be kind?
