Hell's Vine

My clammy cheek was plastered
on the cold slab of rock bottom.
Does it matter how I got here?
Dry heaving my suffocating fear.
Numb blaze & flames of yesterday.
Haunted holograms
of my contorted mistakes
Harrowing hieroglyphic accounts
adorning the ancient brain.
A story for when the soul no longer remains.

Lost souls saunter a star perished night.
Shivering with the grim fright,
that there might not exist a welcoming light.

Lifeless I lay & glimpse
a pinhole of fragile shine.
Proofless that it is divine.
But hopeful it's a tiny sign.
My claws extend
to climb hell's vine.
