Charades

In every human nature something secret resides
righteousness and virtue have another side
like someone cheating but accuse another
deep inside self-disgust and unhappiness fester

there may be some who genuinely show
their true selves in every demeanour
there may be some planting judas kisses
on the cheeks of those they pledged a vow

playing their life like a charade
with masks to include some intrigue
palms together smiling with pride
for successful friends but jealousy writhe within

lips speak with kindness yet eyes show disdain
praises are mere words, meaningless sounds
as the heart spits and hatred just remain
it’s just in the nature of some humans.
