Email from David, the Father of My Baby

Lauryn,
I hope this email finds you well. I've been thinking and realized that my communication in the past has been hurtful, and for that, I sincerely apologize. It's important to me that we have a positive and supportive relationship, especially now that we're going to be parents.

I've attached a PDF from my council outlining the monthly child support payments I'm committed to providing. I want to assure you that I am fully committed to supporting you and our baby, both emotionally and financially.

I understand that this is a challenging time, and I would like to be more involved in the process. It's not just about the financial aspect for me; I genuinely want to be there for you and our child. I would like to meet with you at a time and place that's convenient for you. It's important for me to see that you are alright and to understand how the pregnancy is progressing. If you have other romantic involvements, I understand and will keep my distance.

Please let me know when you are available, and if we can arrange a meeting. I believe that open communication will be essential as we navigate a child’s future. Thank you for your understanding, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Best, David

Author's Note
Life's been complicated since my affair with David on August 5th. I was shocked by his recent email and now must decide if I can meet with him. I'll not include Joseph in my decision. Here's an early summary of that night with David. https://deepundergroundpoetry.com/poems/490245-how-beautiful-was-our-sinning/
