Taking Over

Lost in thoughts of yesterday’s story
written on the walls of the heart
the sad betrayal of a friend
who was there and now isn’t

so close we were like twins
joined at the hips and in the heart
or so I willingly thought
but her heart was sadly fragile

she succumbed to the thoughts
of going out with my man
pretty boy tall in stature
but a little short in the brain

she sidled up to him
and listened to his sweet whispers
promises as blank as the air
a betrayal ensued, the silly pair

losing the pretty boy evoked no ache
he was a moron a lady boy rake
but her scissors under the blanket of niceness
was more than I could bear

she took my place in embarrassment and shame
when she found her lovely man
asleep between her brother’s legs
with hairy butt puckered in the air
