North Wales

A part of me
Shall forever lie
Within the sweeping valleys of North Wales
Where-in lies
Captured, and enraptured
My beating heart
The bare winter hills
Dotted with forests of evergreen
Sweeping the landscape
Like a witches broom
As ice cold winds
Freeze tears
In mid drop
Hanging like icycles
From blush red cheeks
As hair hangs
Like deep pile carpet
Thick, and warm
Ice blue eyes
Glisten, and smile
Evoking long lost memories
Of near forgotten folklore
Beating dragon wings
Gliding over the undulating horizon
Whilst fairies
Lie in residence
Within quiet, dainty, dingly dales
Freshwater babbling brooks
Cascade through dented hillsides
Carving out new destinies
Over old ruins, and ancient lands
Where now fly Herons, and Red Kites
And rare Red Squirrels
Sharing the same ground
As Welsh Hares
That occasionally box
In the dew laden mists
Of the approaching Spring....
