I’m off meds
I think I feel okay
Some waves of sadness come
Crashing on my shore
But I just push them back
Sometimes I walk into the water
Hoping to drown in my feelings
But today I feel just fine
Peaceful
Watching the birds over the sunset
The water rippling slightly staying away from the shore

I was on psych meds from 1996-2023. Always treatment resistant. I’ve had ECT also. A total of 36 treatments over 3 years back in the 1990’s. I’ve been off psych meds since this August and I’ve never had such clear thinking. I get sad, I get anxious and hypomanic but thank God I’m no longer numb.

Oh wow. That’s a lot. Yeah, being numb is probably the worst. I’m glad you’re still here, fighting.
