Death Signed
The day started like any other
Just awaiting death to accept an invitation
We’ve all given with forged signatures
Floating a little more south than usual
My state of mind is like a rickety bridge
I like to burn it at both sides
standing center in the eclipse
Impending cataclysmic abysses
don’t frighten me as fast
As feeling empty in a room so full
I feel I won’t be missed, maybe that’s the point
I don’t want a single memory to hold hostage your happy thoughts
When it took the present to taint the past
I burrow deep with each conversation,
It never gladdens me to see how shallow you are
I just want to find a nice resting place for all the trauma that I hold
Just awaiting death to accept an invitation
We’ve all given with forged signatures
Floating a little more south than usual
My state of mind is like a rickety bridge
I like to burn it at both sides
standing center in the eclipse
Impending cataclysmic abysses
don’t frighten me as fast
As feeling empty in a room so full
I feel I won’t be missed, maybe that’s the point
I don’t want a single memory to hold hostage your happy thoughts
When it took the present to taint the past
I burrow deep with each conversation,
It never gladdens me to see how shallow you are
I just want to find a nice resting place for all the trauma that I hold
