Just wanted to write something about
how I was taught by my mom.
She spoiled me then would ground me the next hour. LOL

I lost my mum 18 years ago this week
She was my everything.

I did the same thing. Watching my mother with the foundation and the blush and the mascara. When I was finally old enough I remember swiping her eyelash curler. Beautiful association in learning and the closeness before attaining that rite of passage. H🌷

My mom had Mary Kay makeup when I was younger. I remember  
watching her put on her eyeshadow. Then she would order from Avon. I loved looking at those ordering book!! Still do actually:)
We would also do each others hair
when I got older. Not always with great results. hahaha

I don't have this kind of relationship with my mother, but I do with my daughter. Beautifully captured here!

You are very blessed to have that kind of relationship with your daughter.
I remember when I was younger, in middle school. All my female friends
loved my mom. We all would sit in the kitchen while my mom was making tortillas and just talk - about everything. Girls only!!
My mom always gave the best advice and she's super funny:))

Me, having a bit of personal knowledge about your mom, and talking with her, I can attest to her strengths that carried over to you.  I admire her for that. As well as you.
   
 Your write is an example of how you think.  The creative processes are all you,  your individuality.  But the class and self dignity, and femininity, are traits absorbed by your upbringing.  She did a great job.

This is awesome! I love how gold is a recurring theme through the poem but in a subtle, inobtrusive way. Overall, this is a poem of justified pride and beauty, not to mention a very fitting tribute to your mom. It was my pleasure to read such an accomplished poem.

What can I say - I love the glam of being female. All the
color and attitude. LOL
My mom is a rock star. She's super funny and sweet but at the same
time she'll put you in your place. She's not a shy person - very strong in her convictions. She gave me great advice when I dated at a younger age that's carried over into adulthood.
