The Refracted Dark

bate the water and troll
I am destined for beauty...nothing more
I seek not the seeds sown
deep down I'm worth more

Your fascination with the flesh is stillborn
let go of the dreaded edge and get real
a dull instrument at best...little thrill

A needed effigy for your thoughts
they come traveling a beam of light
burning who it ought naught
Duality of reflection
mirroring your own so much you think
therefore you are...darlin

Grieving for like company
you cast dispersions of apathy
The lust of life is in you
down to the particle I am connected to you

You will not find me languishing in my mortality
kiss the dawn and know me
Have you come for a visit

or to toil in futility?

titillating the darkness
I pray to slay the ego
inside me the capacity
to insult the host dearly

Is that conducive to the greater good
or a growing exercise in madness
nothing more than a mood elevator
I'm easy to bate
not so easy to placate
but I think you seek a rise out of me

It's beneath me really
but I like flexing my wings
I will show no fear,
my anger will simmer
Watch your step in the land of Nod
for, It will be my Father who strikes on my behalf

It's really not up to me
he is the regulator
I am the pupil
he has ordained my steps
my fate is in his hands
he might let you take a poke at me
but believe me

His is the final say
