drinking
“I beg your pardon; I am drunk without a drink. English wine &
words are vulnerable to every man.”―Santosh Kalwar
sunshine drinks the morning dew,
as rivers drink fresh waters from the spring;
oceans drink hill-quickening brew
and thirst for more of what spate-rivers bring.
bleary men sip alcohol
on bar stools, floating on their cloud-nine dreams,
while the intellectual
imbibe best-selling authors by the reams.
i am wont to drink your eyes,
should i thus find swift passage to your heart,
that my thirst may realise
its quenching, ere my world should fall apart.
