Autumn in Phoenix

Vibrant reds and yellows
swaths of orange
streak the sky
in a valley of millions
sunset air pollution

at least its pretty

brisk breezes of Fall
crisp red apples
earthy cider wafts
of cloves and cinnamon
hay rides under warm blankets

seasonal pleasures
enjoyed by those further north

glad at least some get to experience them

this time of year
is an arborial fashion show
change in the air
the promise of snow

but not here
and I'm grieving

Autumn in Phoenix
is for leaving
