“The happiest of all lives is a busy solitude.”―Voltaire.

unpiteous my urge
to shelter in soft shades,
far from the madding crowd.
loneness wears not one blot,
for solitude is not
a harness or a shroud
that peace of mind invades:
‘tis there sound thoughts converge.
