Wildflower Meadow
The clouds scatter vast
across the bluest October sky.
There exists a wildflower meadow.
A cherished chaos of color
the earth joyously bestowed.
He would wait for her there,
where there exists no goodbyes.
A field uncontrolled and uncontained.
He loved her deeper than his veins.
Through a thousand mortal pains.
He picked her a bouquet
Poppy, primrose and forget me not.
To depict a story of true love's plot.
His love was a million wildflowers
that stretched through that meadow in her heart.
Shorter grow the days that they must be apart.....
across the bluest October sky.

There is also something rather refreshing about just being out in the fresh air with those lovely wildflowers, right? I've been there, not as often as I have liked but...

The wildflowers are really pretty in Alaska, where my sister lives. They have this pink flower called fireweed.
Anywhere in nature is heaven to me.
The fresh air on a walk in nature or a wildflower field is exuberant.

I enjoy the emotional and visual qualities this has. Comes across as an ever-enduring longing for relationships to continue, even after death. Quite an expansive expression. The articulate detail paints a picture. There's kind of a pain and sorrow and sadness, reflecting upon what you wrote. Such is the burden we carry, in the necessary sacrifice to preserve love, and to see what needs preserved. Hope beyond the grave. Through memory, we seem to try to hang on, so that we may not forget. Anyway, great write. I'll see you around!

Thank you for your comments. I'm not truly a religious person, but I have a strong belief love endures even beyond death.
And although the poem doesn't exactly say it, I'm also writing of the grief of them being apart.
You are very perceptive to my emotions, I appreciate that.

I miss my Dad, too, Debbie. 😥
Your poem is a lovely expression of his love.
I bet he smiled when he read it. 💐
