Lavender Bouquet

Tiny clusters of flower buds on long and slender stems,
bunched lovingly together by her mother's two frail and wrinkled hands.

A small bouquet of lavender wrapped tightly in brown twine,
with a little heart shaped wreath, a gift her mother left behind.

It now lays on her dresser as a reminder every day,
of sweet memories of her mother that she knows will never fade.
