A Walk To Mt. Equinox

Tall joyous giants stalk the autumn blue sky.
In the solitude of their gargantuan grace.
Gaze up, with  your head flung back
Yes! Happy as a lark.
For a moment the plagues of the heart
just fall apart.
Bark rises on a voyage to the sun.
Beyond the crowd of sun seized leaves.
Intent to stun.
The terminal green still harmonizes with the eye.
It all feels so peaceful, leaves electric
before their fate to die.
High above lemon yellows and mulberry red,
canopy the path ahead.
And don't forget, the rickety trees
Jutting stick like branches in their obsession
to touch the chill of the breeze.
Nature's soldiers in glorious salute.
In her fall beauty, the forest stands astute.
