Twilight of the Soul
Tonight was in possession of the most
sinister looking sunset.
October chill, shivers my step.
Haunted ominous gray drifting clouds
hover above the dying burnt orange sun.
Now a collapsed firey glow on the horizon.
To mirror dark charcoal thoughts,
like puffs of exhaust from a weary brain.
Roaring flames in my heart from a gasoline of pain.
For some the twilight of the soul has taken its reign.
sinister looking sunset.
Author's Note
This was written for a friend. Here is a haunted sunset.
Waiting for a spectacular one too.
I'd like to add to this poem at some point.

This has a very powerful sense of desire in it. Very sharp and on point metaphors, in breaking down and describing the emotional aesthetic and interpretation of your inspiration. It's almost like you can see a captivating fury ahead, ha-ha. In that context of emotion, there's a very raw feel to this. Like you're venting, somewhat. You don't hold back, and really drive the point home to the reader about whatever it is you're dealing with. I can identify, because I do the same thing in my writings. You have to see it that way - yourself in your writings. It will always come out. If you embrace that, you'll grow exponentially as an artist. You know how I have a zeal and longing for justice in the world. I guess I can kind of relate, from that perspective, in what you capture here, with covering and conveying a sunset. I share in the artistic struggle of what's here, and the sacrifice of putting pen to paper, and the rewarding fruit it produces. It's like trying to bottle the noetic lightning of thoughts. Anyway, good read as always, and I hope to have encouraged you. I'll see you around!
