Silence of the Woods
I drank in the silence of the gods
Springing forth from the darkened wood
And carried upon the drifting winds
I heard these ghostly words
“Start where you are
Use what you have
Do what you should”
Do not worry about the wind
Do not wait for it to change
And rather than complain
You should simply adjust your sails
After all
It’s not what you look at in life
That truly matters
But instead, it’s what you see
Thought has no age, no limit, no end
And every step we take
Strikes a chord
That will vibrate throughout eternity
And just as every poet
Dips their pen into the inkwell of their soul
And pens their very being upon the page
So shall you find your path
So shall you see the world
And if you listen to the silence of the wood
So shall you hear these words
Springing forth from the darkened wood
And carried upon the drifting winds
I heard these ghostly words
“Start where you are
Use what you have
Do what you should”
Do not worry about the wind
Do not wait for it to change
And rather than complain
You should simply adjust your sails
After all
It’s not what you look at in life
That truly matters
But instead, it’s what you see
Thought has no age, no limit, no end
And every step we take
Strikes a chord
That will vibrate throughout eternity
And just as every poet
Dips their pen into the inkwell of their soul
And pens their very being upon the page
So shall you find your path
So shall you see the world
And if you listen to the silence of the wood
So shall you hear these words
