It's the easiest thing in the world, one click
Dopamine

Or it used to be

Ever growing desire met with ever diminishing pleasure
It is the biggest, most collaborative, most wonderful thing we have ever made as a species
I am using It right now
And probably will for the rest of the night
And into the morning

It's on my computer
It's on my phone
It's what I seek when I need distraction
But how can I distract myself from It?

What great irony
That a computer hacked my brain
And siphons off my every waking moment

My heroes are peeled apart, layer by layer
Until they are villains
My villains are glorified
As the find platforms and pulpits

It’s ziggurat steps
Lead into infinity

There is no more safety
No more security
No more isolation
