Ghost of you

Anxiety.
A ghost haunting me every breath I take.
In your silent gloom,
I falter at the weights of you.
You like when I’m scared
And falling apart at the seems.
I can sense your delight,
As you feed off my light.
You are such an unholy ghost,
That must live inside of me.
You’ve taken my name
And casted your shadow upon it.
Bounded by your chains
And trapped by your fear,
I have become your prisoner,
Present yet invisible,
To all of those that are near.
So restless you have been,
Twisting inside me,
Burrowing yourself down deep.
I have accepted your company and your ghostly smile.
I have let your name be spoken without effort,
Yet you still desire to haunt me.
Your path has often been hard to navigate,
And has taken me to the depths of the unknown.
You have dimmed my light,
Selflessly I have let you,
So that you may shine.
My fractured bones have come to know,
Your power may be fierce,
But my hope is eternal,
And that slight little glimmer is growing,
Despite your everlasting darkness.
I will not be the chill to the forest until my dying day,
My hopes beating heart,
Will be the doorway to the sun,
Leaving the ghost of you behind.
