Image for the poem fecund

fecund

“Your heart is full of fertile seeds, waiting to sprout.”
—Morihei Ueshiba

a forest full of fertile flowers fruiting,
whose verdure feeds the vine with seed and grain,
whose cozy haunts are shelter from the looting
of predators that intercept the rain.

a river pregnant with aquatic creatures,
whose merriment reflects the harvestsong
of fishermen who revel in her features,
as joyfully to sea she trips along.

a man surrounded by his wife and children,
whose quiver swells with lush fecundity,
whose geniture is kindled but to thrill them,
his boldness blooming with profundity.

a song that breeds orchestral suites from motifs
whose nuances are whispers of the soul,
whose voices tremble with the psalms of plaintiffs
that move the universe to rock 'n' roll.
