Because at one time it was cheap place to live
And occupied mostly by gays and such

Wider acceptance today, but still Gay Ground
During summer time and special days of feasts
You see a lot of things not made for prude eyes.

I say, if you don't like it
No need to shoot and kill
Just stay away.
