the Spanish Queen and football
The Spanish queen and football
This forenoon in Cascais was very hot, sensibly I was not going out, switched on the TV and saw the second
half of a football match between England and Spain.
England, the favorite was on goal down at the time, but this didn't bother the biased commentator.
Since Spain was the underdog I rooted for this team but also because I took umbrage at his arrogance.
Not to forget, Spain is next door to Portugal, one has to show loyalty to Iberia.
What was watching was a new sport, similar to soccer
fast, but with sonorousness, that bad tackles and hurts
a temporary interruption, of a ballet on turf.
The last minute was dramatic, the English team went all out to score a goal but were denied.
The game was played in Australia and the Aussie public was even-handed and marvelous.
The Spanish queen with her daughter, had gone to Australia to see the match, this was a moral booster that helped, gave the extra strength to succeed.
Leticia, the Spanish queen, has brought King Felipe much happiness; this meeting of royals and commoners
(you and me) is not always smooth
I think of Prince Harry of England, a young man who liked to go out with his mates, hunting deer, a sport of blood that is a part of the upper classes, maybe Harry was not too keen on this sport, but preferred fast cars and
running in the woods.
He met, the love of his life, an American actress, she soon seduced him and they married.
Alas, she didn't take well to the royal obligations and
headed for the hills of Hollywood.
The sad part of this is she hates football, a sweaty game
not worth the effort
They have two small boys, wouldn't be great if they, one day, joined Liverpool Football Club?
