Manifesto
I'd like a constitutional upgrade
For lumpenproletariat concerns,
Like what Christ on The Sermon Mount outlaid,
Which MAGA mania routinely spurns
Because evangelism always lies,
No matter the flavor or the brand,
When its true nature is to despise
Diversity well continuum spanned...
Since fresh ideas are never allowed
Anywhere near the conventional mind
Bearing the taint of the unduly proud
Who have no intention of being kind...
And, oh, how pathetic to hate and hate,
Never knowing...it NEVER makes us great.

"Who have no intention of being kind... " seems to be the crux.
I think the filter-test of "do their leaders and followers act kindly?" is enough to reject most religions and ideologies.

Quite so, since our incongruity radar will always let us compare ideological proclamations with observed behavior.

Well beef isn't very good for you anyway, or so I have read.
I can't say I've never had it but I try to keep it to a minimum:)
F.Y.I. this poem spawned from a recent Newsweek article by Aila Slisco titled...EVANGELICALS ARE NOW REJECTING 'LIBERAL' TEACHINGS OF JESUS.
We know our own minds best when we are accurate with our definitions first, but clearly some folks never even make it to a dictionary, let alone The Beatitudes.

I was gonna keep that on the down low, but now that you raised the topic, I'm just gonna go ahead and love you too!

Broadly speaking, I agree, but we must get better about using our collective foresight as a tool for warding away catastrophe. Isn't that what honest politics are for?
Of course it's always easier to sabotage than to build, but how many innocents are harmed in the ensuing chaos of lawlessness?

I'd like a constitutional upgrade
-- Me too!
Because evangelism always lies,
-- well said, and so true
Since fresh ideas are never allowed
Anywhere near the conventional mind
-- that's why we need to keep them fresh, and let them loose only near those who convene on the other side of the convent walls of convention.
With this manifesto you could even start a new conventicle ;-)

I know, right? Let's convene a global constitutional conventicle wherein we arrive at a more wholesome blend of individual rights and the group emancipatory ideals seen in the Communist Manifesto, The Declaration of Independence, and many other enlightenment documentations, such as the last lines of The Gettysburg Address. I could even imagine codifying literary influences such as The Three Musketeer motto..."All for one and one for all" and the likewise sentiment expressed by the dying Spock in Star Trek Two...The Wrath of Khan, where he says that "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one".
Everyone fears totalitarianism, but what are we doing to prevent that beyond the recycling of arms race carnage?
A better future must be accomplished on paper first, and of course that's why language arts are so critical.
And it helps to be a Star Trek fan, always thinking of The United Federation of Planets ;-)
