Goodbyes
Why are goodbyes so sad and difficult? Whether it's saying goodbye to your favourite show, to your lover, to your friends, to your home, to life, or to that one thing that matters to you the most in this world, it is always the most painful to let these go. Why? Because it means that the thing is getting over? Or maybe it's the memories associated with it that make it difficult and sad. Yes, it's the memories. We can let go of the place, the thing, the person, or the moment, but we can't let go of the memories we made with them.
And why is it called "goodbye" if it means to let go of those precious memories, which is kind of bad? Well, I think it's because it doesn't mean that something is getting over, but it means that now you're going to start over to create those memories all over again. How will you come back again if you don't leave first? So that's why it's a goodbye. Because it is the beginning of a new journey, a new you. It is a journey that you are going to take all over again to reach where you already are right now.
But why do we have to do this? If we have to come back here only, then why are we leaving? Just stay, right? Because in this journey, along with good, happy memories, we also have a few bad, sad memories. And they start to overshadow the good ones because they're dense. And if, instead of letting go, we try to hold on to it, it's going to be very painful. And we might also mess everything up. So that's why we need to let go. So if we think deeply, we're not actually saying goodbye to the thing but to the bad memories associated with it. Things we don't want to carry around with us, so to let them go, we start over. Hence, we say "Goodbye".
But it's not actually a goodbye; it's a journey to a better you. So don't be afraid to let go if you ever have to. It's for your betterment only.
