You People

The Mexicans hated when the Spaniards and French said, "you people"
Native Americans learned to hate these very same words
The term was placed on a historic reel and ran like a sequel
Two innocent words placed together and wished that they were never heard

The Irish and Scots played with it amongst themselves until the English took a liking
Unless you've done your research, you don't realize that Africans sailed with Vikings
The English learned to hate the sound of these words while suffering under French rule
The French in turn learned to also hate the sound learning that the Nazis were indeed cruel

The Spaniards and the Italians heard it frequently from the Moors
And aboard slave ships headed for America it rang out as never before
The Indians created a caste system to say these words amongst themselves
That's until the English started using it on everyone, regardless of their wealth

Tribes against tribes warred as the Hutus and the Tutsis did
Upon various continents the despise for these words couldn't be hid
China's dynasties were filled with hatred, death, and crime
Japan and it's samurais claiming, "I've gotta protect what's mine"

The Asians watched as the Europeans invaded, again using these same words
Sending them flooding into Africa and " Heigui, ha guay, and Kaffir" is what we heard
Different entitlements for "you people," right down to separate bathrooms
Pushed into the world of poverty, while the land that is stolen is groomed

With the words "you people" circling the globe, the Aboriginals live in vain
Natives have been domesticated, and the only way to exist is to be broken and trained
Taught that yes "you people" is a derogatory phrase, but learn to like the saying
It's always the people with the biggest weapons that aren't on there knees praying
