THROW THOSE CURTAINS WIDE

Throw those curtains wide,
let daylight inside,
lighten all the room,
chase away night gloom.

Let it shine on you,
be night-clothed or nue,
in its warmth bathe in
as it touches skin.

Feel the face of God
look upon your bod,
your soul deep into;
He created you.

Said, "Let there be light!":
then world came in sight.
On its face sprung life,
good without sin's strife.

Let that light of day
inspire you on way
lighting up your path
post-breakfast and bath.

Inspired by chorus line in song by Elbow, "One Day Like This". Link to video I have just watched:

I love to welcome a sunrise through the front window of my lounge.
