The Crossroad
In a dream I perceived a highway
And there where it forks into two
Many a dreamer stands waiting
Pondering what to do.
Their minds like waves in turmoil
On this desert span of life
Where the crossroads meet before them
And they ponder in trouble and strife.
Some have waited for aeons
While others pass right on
Hardly pondering a moment
Then forever gone.
There's something lonely
About a crossroad
And everyone there I see
Alone must make their decision
On the road of life -
To be.
And there where it forks into two
Many a dreamer stands waiting
Pondering what to do.
Their minds like waves in turmoil
On this desert span of life
Where the crossroads meet before them
And they ponder in trouble and strife.
Some have waited for aeons
While others pass right on
Hardly pondering a moment
Then forever gone.
There's something lonely
About a crossroad
And everyone there I see
Alone must make their decision
On the road of life -
To be.
