It's not dark at all

It's a nonlinear traveling around thoughts and Images with a hope to conjure the surrealistic nature of being through art, philosophy, mindfulness, human connection and our actions surrounding those things....

Dreamscapes that ebb and flow from thought to emotional exploration to the essence of deep soulful investigations.... or something along those lines, anyway!?!

I love the way you took his work and peeled underlying sensuality from the surreal. I felt at times you described a woman’s body, at other times a landscape, and again, the smack of flesh in an intimate scene.

Then I read the comments and read the poem again and almost fell off my chair. You perfectly, I mean PERFECTLY, captured the essence of Dali

There's just something about that Dali museum that I absolutely love. It's in the absolute perfect location in St Pete and totally worth the drive from Tampa, where there's not nearly the culture. (har har) Yes, our claim to fame= the strip clubs and the death metal, it's almost the same as far as things to be note worthy for! ... 😂 I tease, I tease. Both have their kitschy value!  

I highly recommend checking out the museum, even if you're not necessarily a fan, it's such a fantastically cool building and atmosphere with jaw dropping artwork and these surrealistic gardens; it's all so so awe inspiring. The first time I went was back in the 90's and I'll never forget how impressive it was, I was hooked.  
 
I am stoked that you could see and feel my pov which fills me with a wonderful sense of positivity and motivation, which my silly little pen lacks sometimes...I'm always a work in progress there.

I beg your pardon!  Tampa blows St Pete away!  Especially culture wise.  Clearwater has the beach of course.  Tampa has way more going for it. You know that. Lol.

haha...I know nothing of the sort!!... lol. I do have to disagree, though... Tampa is(at best) blah. I just happen to love downtown St Pete and vibe with it way better. The restaurants and quirky shops are more delicious and more plentiful. Plus, a lot of my favorite concert venues are either there in St Pete or in Clearwater. Tampa is a wasteland of one extreme personality or the other. I swear the creative parts of the city are dwindling more and more. I do like the occasional jaunt to the casino but only because I have a really good friend who is Seminole, herself. She not only works for the tribe but is a child of legacy within it's very long history, so we get treated like VIP's when we go. Can't beat that...

Hallucinatory Hygenics....bringing the heart and mind into alignment.

The body is the form, and having spiritual experiences are the function. The bridge is the mind/heart connection. The body superconducts consciousness passing back and forth through the heart/mind conduit inductively. Integration is the key. There is no otherness because there is no other.

Now, singularity becomes a pastime. And play dates are playing your instrument with others, who are extensions of yourself. Ultimately, we must give ourselves permission to live.

Sometimes a little medicine, via a surrealistic experience can only help in opening up a person's way of bringing mind, body and soul into alignment.

Expanding thought and feeling while allowing the usual constructs that hold us back to dissolve away... Letting go of fear or allowing it to have it's rightful place, yet not an overpowering bullying presence.

Yes, giving yourself permission to be free is imperative but for me, it's also about exploring the beauty that my particular journey into mindfulness can teach me and those that I hold dear. My self expression as a whole, has been something that's long been suppressed or flatly ignored throughout my early personal life. So it's become integral to me now, that whomever I allow close, also understands how much I value this process of finding my way through, growing pains and all. Acceptance... purrrrr.  

I love how you constantly teach me something new and completely needed/profound. Again, I feel so lucky to be able to pick your brain, like you willingly let me

Inspiration deserves reverberation.

So, thank you for providing substance to respond to. It's a two way street.

One day when I grow up, I want to be able to play with words like that! (Yes, this still a dream of mine) 😁

Sadly, Dali is an acquired taste for me, which I'm still acquiring. In the surreal (the hyper realistic surreal) I'm fascinated by Istvan Sandorfi who beautifully blends realism and surrealism. But I digress.

The art of wordsmithing is not in the stringing together words but the weaving of emotion, leaving just enough room for the reader to participate in filling in the gaps, which you do with unrivaled ease. I'm jealous! 🌼💙

I first went to the Dali Museum to attend an overnight exhibit for Andy Warhol back in the 90's. I thought it would be so cool to experience Warhol's art in such a fantastic setting, for the first time. It was a partially interactive exhibit and yes, it ended up being kind of interesting but nothing in what I learned later was the comparison. At that time I knew ZERO about Dali. I went through the Warhol exhibit twice and was semi disappointed, then I noticed that even given the late hour, there was a docent on duty doing her tour of the Dali works. My friend and I serendipitously decided to slip into her guided tour ...and it's there, that my introduction to surrealism was born and I was never the same again. Needless to say, Andy lost that night and Salvador gained a big fan. I'll never ever forget turning into the hall where they hang his enormous masterworks ... The Hallucinogenic Toreador, the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus and Galacidalacidesoxiribunucleicacid (DNA) all of them blew my mind and left me in serious awe at all that one man can create in one painting.... It still impresses me all these years later. However, I can totally understand how he's an acquired taste, too. It's not everyone's cup of tea.

It does my heart wonders that you believe in my style of writing, J and that you take the time to explore it along with me

Ages ago, I bought a Dali painting (reprint of course) because it was the closest thing to my brain, lol. Obviously I learned quickly all about him from there.  

Your write is a great depiction of the experience of seeing all the glory as a total, in the area.

The Dali Museum is one of my absolute favorite places in the 'Tampa Bay area.' It's actually in St Pete. It's a stunning place to spend hours strolling around and only the various New York galleries give me bigger goosebumps... (at least inside of the US!) It's a perfect place for his work to be shown, not only the building itself but the grounds, the campus itself. The Avant gardens, is what they're called! They're just gorgeously surreal and inspirational, in their dreamlike quality.... It's ethereal and a total wonderland to immerse yourself in. It recharges my soul, to take in.

Ahhh, that portion of the poem was a sensual favorite for me, too. Dali definitely wasn't shy about his desires and intimate needs appearing on canvas and oh how I can relate and feel similar...

It's tingle worthy that you feel my intent and my own heady nature... thank you, dear BB... You're a lovely bit of brightness that I adore and welcome the basking in...
