A Windy Monday
This morning I thought I’d reach out and touch you
But you weren't lying next to me
I walked outside and found you
I found you'd already left me
But soon I’d be joining you in the sky
Given flight by a murderous passerby
Tell them what you want about sorrow and regret
Show them what you think will help make them forget
Strength in numbers means nothing today
We've all been taken away and there's nothing you could ever do or say
The wind blows with such a hateful moan
It's a shame the rain has left us all alone
Short-lived as our screams are made to be
Are out-heard only by the thunder of jealousy
The vultures are coming with their cameras
Apologies and silent moments only remind them of us
Let us lie forevermore in the peaceful seclusion of our tombs
Than keep us here dying ever in these Godforsaken classrooms
A flag today and a ribbon on the next
Can't relieve the emptiness in their chests
Think of me, think of us, but your words are not enough
To take this back, to give us sway
To make them forget this long, windy Monday

Rest in peace and God bless.
