Pride
Pride is considered an essential and necessary personality trait. The truth is, it is the downfall of humanity - individually, and collectively. It is mistaken for confidence and independence. This merely creates division and divisiveness, as people think that such a concept as "truth" is subjective, and not absolute. By default, there can only be "one" truth, if it is to be truth. Everyone believes what they want to. Ultimately, the majority of people think they're right in their own eyes. Such can work on many levels, individually, and collectively.
Pride can hinder discernment into uncertain ambiguity. A person's interpretation of things with meaning becomes affected. It can be as simple as confusion of opinion for judgment. Context of assertion can also become misconstrued. People get mixed up in navigating depth-perception of their own attention span. Thoughts, words, and actions lose order. Understanding what devotion and discipline is, and why it's needed, becomes distorted.
Pride also causes an immorality in the motive and intent of using fact to persuade. Such is the means for "winning" an argument. This makes room for unseen deception. What's considered "true" is limited to accusatory discrimination, persecution, and oppression. Some people find amusement or entertainment in such, in a casual and leisure context. The mind can definitely become equivocal to it's own conscience. It decides right and wrong for self, conveiniently. When it circles back, people deflect, play the role of hypocrisy, become upset, ignore, etc. No one is supreme or perfect to exalt themselves as a cited resource!
Pride causes a compromise in peace. It makes people hard-hearted, and unwilling to admit their own faults. Rather, they find faults in others, to justify their own insecurities or short-comings. This really elicits pride. When no one can admit error, it perpetuates conflict. General focus and awareness are mostly altered towards competition and drama. Dynamics in language, communication, and relationships suffer. People can't admit error or fault, but can point it out in others!
Pride is warped, distorted, and perverted. Out-going concern for others doesn't seem important. Rather than careful consideration, bias and partiality of self numbs the reinforcement of it's own dissassociation. Such is the opposite of understanding - it is ignorance. There is a lack of humility, in exchange for this saturation. Reasons, excuses, and justifications, rather than honesty, and directly addressing problems. Imbalanced emotion, and patterns of behavior stem from such. Development becomes deficient.
Pride defeats the purpose of conceptualizing equality. Thinking that you're better than someone, because of what you think is right and wrong, is insanity. Projection of image is used, which is fake and insincere. Such is hypocrisy. It's unreal to dismiss the need for forgiveness, and help. Forgiveness is essential to responsibility, individually, and collectively. The reality is, we all make mistakes, on a daily basis. We all need eachother, to achieve the pinnacle goals of purpose and truth. Though it sounds rather idealistic, and overly optimistic, it can be a work in progress, moving forward. Being truly humble, teachable, and thankful. Discipline and obedience to a cited resource seems fundamentally logical, by this point.
