Blanks

Pressed within all these rules
Listening like the fools
As life fades away in decay
Rigamortis day after day

The years start to siphon
As they steal my iron
Fills me full of lead
Graphite as my weapon's drawn

It's difficult to holster
Each hour starts to bolster
Thoughts fill my head
Graphic images of dying dawns

What shall we use, to fill the empty spaces?
Pencil snapped in two, still erases
Any traces of imagination's figment
Within it, I question my existence

Have I ever been here?
Who will be to say?
Repeat the lines
Decay begins to erase

Will I ever be near?
Can I stay?
Time will not rewind
Forward forced in place

Experience lost
Ink sinks with each drop
Aim, worth a shot
Ancient Age

Frozen within frost
Vocabulary holocaust
Finding words now lost
Drawing blanks
