There is a depth here that is quite easy to discern in terms of suffering even if the source isn't certain. I am taken back to a piece of a song by Sting:

"As I returned across the field's I'd known
I recognized the walls that I'd once laid
Had to stop in my tracks for fear
Of walking on the mines I'd laid"

Hey jazz,
Thanks so much for feeling this piece and for leaving me your thoughts on it. To me, the depths that we humans can often fall into regardless of reason, can be profoundly penetrative, affecting our actions (consciously or unconsciously) emotionally, mentally and physically far and wide.

Sometimes it's healing to try to let the bleeding stop on it's own, so to speak.

The pursuit of happiness and or the "perfect" life as you perceive it (Your own and outside influences). Berating yourself when you feel you've come up short or are progressing the path too slowly. Possibly listening to detractors or others claiming to be happy.  
 
The life balance can be precarious and tipped into mental darkness easily if your confidence is weakened. The poem conveys your nirvana pursuit, and the angst in not achieving it, even if it is a partial illusion.

Hugs and embraces until the confidence strengthens. You are a strong woman, so no need for blood spill.  😉

It's where metaphor and reality collide into a kind of poetically muttered self truth that sometimes isn't the easiest admission...Are my thoughts...  

Thank you for feeling the essence of what I was trying to capture and put out into the world. I believe that despite it's difficulty, reviewing one's pain can help in so many important and valuable ways.  

A little spilled blood is often all that it might take to change a trajectory.

I can hear the Doctor Who Dalek pronunciation in the title,

and then picture humanity on the chaos run in the rest of the poem.  

It's an oddly specific feeling that you've conjured which has me nodding in the affirmative and almost a bit relieved that another soul out there understands in this amazing way you've smartly described, dear poet.

No worries about being uneasy with the blood. I get it. I'm seriously the opposite and honestly, perhaps a bit creepy when it comes to my tolerance to it. After thinking about it, I kinda realize that some sprinkled hints of bloody metaphor might make it into my writing a bit more than it probably should.. hahaha... Yeah, I am a glutton for some good icky imagery... can't be helped.

You had me at the first two lines. Writing to purge the ick is the best. I love the formatting and font you used. But mostly I loved the poem. Applying pressure to the hurt metaphorically made me think of how I do it. Shopping, of course. I should try writing it out. It might be less expensive. We both know I won’t do it. We all have our uniquely personal ways of how we deal with whatever life can throw at us. I too, love me some retail therapy, especially makeup and perfume... Ohh my!
However, my darker side might sometimes need more than what Ruby Woo can offer, hence this poem... lmao...

I feel myself relaxing just knowing that you so fully understand and get where I'm coming from, when it pertains to this piece. It really doesn't get any nicer than feeling that sense of being understood and just being heard.

You get a "Grrrrr"!  For this semi-buried self-aggressive tone.  
Though, I can see this as a showing of wounds, instead of hiding them, or withdrawing to heal them. You're letting the world know that you're still standing, defiant to the sabotage dealt you.  Pride is not vain.  It's survival.  And you're thriving here.

Bravo, Blue.

I think what makes you feel like you're only surviving, while in the moment, can be what ultimately ends up supplying you with the biggest amount of strength. Having 'what you've been dealt' be a sort of fuel, powering how you navigate yourself going forward.

That's the healthiest way I can look at it, anyway!

This piece is essentially just a few lines of thought that I found made for an interesting place to emotionally travel. Some truth mixed with some poetic license, and isn't that how it usually works!

(I appreciate the Grrrr! ... the aggression was totally what I had in mind.. lol.)

*** Yes! The dichotomy of imagery. You hug someone you love, and you’re doing it with ill intent. The fuck! Self care meets self loathing and a little skin splits

*** you tongue fuck the images again, swirling them around like a tornado. You apply pressure to stop the fucking bleeding… but you’re using your awareness to stab repeatedly. You are stabbing yourself in the wound you want to stem the loss. Another bit of flesh tends.

Feeling shit sucks. But feeling nothing swallows, and the taste lingers for days. Better perhaps to self inflict than be inflicted, even if it’s the same wound.

It's definitely something wonderful to be appreciated, it's something else all together to have someone I so deeply respect and regard, fill my often waning sense of self accomplishment. It's akin to that first smoke of the day, paired so perfectly with that first cuppa coffee.... Damn, I miss that combo and how it soul soothed.

I too, randomly wish I hadn't quit smoking, but only in certain circumstances... lol... I know you get it.
It'll be 6 years this Oct, since I've smoked and I still get those moments of fleeting desire... I think I always will.

Like the stigmata of passion, this is a dark dream that envelopes me with pain and hurt while written with lines that sing a Gothic song that only a poet of your caliber can. I felt this and empathized as great poetry can evoke empathy in the reader. This is no exception to your talent that strikes right at the very heart of the human condition. Truly a dark gem.

You do know that you're a great writer right, you have and get many reading list and likes because your pieces are relatable. This is tight work, we only wish at times things were this simple. How do you get rid of a snake without killing it, we wonder. Tight

There are several levels of both psychological and spiritual factors in this. The pain serves as punishment for the guilt. Also like a penance,  redeeming, as the life matter flows in offer to something higher other than ourselves.

Beautiful and painful at the same time.

A perfect example of the beauty that hides within pain.... and how even the strongest of hurt could never contain it... I've so missed your words Blue... 🎭

I am still pretty speechless that you are actually here.... it's surreal! 🤯 In all admitted and embarrassing honesty, I would randomly come and read your poems (which I'm sure you read my comments via the notifications, that I periodically left you) sometimes leaving a comment and sometimes not... because I very much missed our connected ease and understanding. We had a kindred spirit kind of shared likeness and I remember loving how much it meant to me and always hoped to hear from you... again.
