Memories

A lot of things would be solved if our memory could be wiped clean like a floppy disk. The first time your heart got broken the times you didn’t know what to say but you did but for the sake of peace you swallowed the words whole  and they bypassed your digestive system and stayed . The days when your heart wasn’t in it or your mind but your feet took over one step in front of the other but life laid heavy and your strength was low . Now your memory has muscles that pump iron with your past when in the present something goes wrong and now you’re lifting two tons of ruminating and you’re caught in that never decreasing cycle of I know how this goes . Got the T-shirt back in 1986 and I threw it in a drawer with the slogan been and seen and done that but man your memory it makes you feel like it was yesterday. Yet you are older with joints that creak and wiser but that memory of yours is a miser it holds all the bad and won’t spend overtime on the good . it’s tucked it away so you see In black and white forgetting all the bright hues and rainbows and you concentrate on all your yesterdays and forget all the marvellous moments you have collected on the way . Memories have a lot to answer for time has corrupted their files
